The National Weather Service in Melbourne, Florida has issued another red flag warning for fire conditions in east central Florida.
Another Red Flag Warning Issued for Disney and Universal Areas
The red flag warning is for 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 20. It includes Orange and Osceola counties, where Walt Disney World Resort and Universal Orlando Resort are located. It also includes Volusia, Lake, Seminole, Okeechobee, Indian River, Saint Lucie, Martin, and Brevard counties.
Thursday’s weather is anticipated to have a high of 83°F with a low of 47°F, with gusty winds in the afternoon predicted to reach 20 to 30 miles per hour. Higher wind gusts are also possible in the evening but are currently predicted to reach 15 to 25 miles per hour (per Weather.com).
There have been red flag warnings twice in recent weeks, both following fire weather watches. A red flag warning means critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. Fires are likely to develop due to low relative humidity and gusty winds. Any fires that develop will spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
