Boardwalk Candy palace will reopen on April 11 following a refurbishment to “offer visitors a new gourmet experience,” Disneyland Paris said in a press release. The sweets shop will now be sponsored by M&M’s and has been redesigned inside and out.

The exterior façade now features several nods to the M&M’s brand, including a new window display of a three-layered illustration depicting a candy palace on a boardwalk. The palace has towers with pink and teal turrets topped by M&M’s. The Boardwalk Candy Palace marquee is at the bottom of the window, accented by lights, flags, and stars. A retro version of the M&M’s logo is in the lower right corner.

The interior of the shop recreates the Atlantic City promenade. It has been enhanced with decorative elements that reference iconic attractions of the boardwalk.

The new floor is inspired by the seaside, featuring shell motifs on a sand-colored terrazzo floor. Mosaics and colors are reminiscent of the sea and the foam of waves.

Disneyland Paris said the renovation was also an opportunity to rethink the shop layout and update the furniture to enhance guests’ shopping experience. Cash registers are now in front of the Atlantic City mural, which is 9.15 meters wide.

Ornate chandelier and a decorative balloon adorn the ceiling above a wooden candy shop sign.

Hot air balloons (with attached M&M’s) hang from the ceiling. Colorful frescoes depict the sky, made up of almost 35,000 M&M’s lentils.

Specially-designed cabinets house 30 tubes filled with M&M’s, similar to the reimagined Main Street Confectionery at Magic Kingdom.

Particular care was taken to renovate the shop’s original paintwork, moldings, columns, and other decorative features to enhance the space while preserving its original charm.

Boardwalk Candy Palace is part of the long-standing tradition of having a sweets shop on Main Street, U.S.A., which began with Candy Palace at Disneyland in 1955.
