Disneyland announced a new cavalcade featuring Duffy and ShellieMay coming to the park for its 70th anniversary celebration, which begins on May 16, 2025, and runs through summer 2026.
“The Celebrate Happy Cavalcade” with Duffy
This is a new character cavalcade following the parade route. Favorite characters include Mickey and Friends in their 70th anniversary costumes. Goofy is joined by his son Max. Duffy and ShellieMay will appear on their own carts at the front of the colorful cavalcade.
Duffy debuted as the Disney Bear for the opening of Once Upon a Toy at Walt Disney World in 2002. He wasn’t popular at the time so Disney handed him over to the Oriental Land Company, owners and operators of Tokyo Disney Resort. He was introduced there in 2005 and proved successful. International parks and resorts have continued to introduce more of Duffy’s friends, including ShellieMay. Tokyo Disney Resort is honoring the 20th anniversary of Duffy with a special celebration this year.
