Florida Man Grabs Guest By The Neck After Mistaking That He Was Cut in Line for a Walt Disney World Bus

A Winter Garden man attacked somebody he mistakenly thought cut in line ahead of him for a Walt Disney World bus, authorities said.

Every year, dozens of people get arrested at Walt Disney World Resort, which is roughly the size of the city of San Francisco.

Leonardo Oliveira Cappe, 47, of Winter Garden, “forcibly” grabbed the victim by the back of the neck and yanked him backward at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort, according to a recently released Orange County Sheriff’s arrest report.

The victim was getting off the bus bound for Disney Springs, but then realized he was the wrong stop at the hotel. The bus driver told him and his family to get back on the bus. At this point, Oliveira thought the victim was cutting in line, which angered him.

The bus driver saw the attack unfold and reported seeing “Oliveira began to yell and then swung a closed fist at (the victim’s) neck then grabbed him from the back of the neck and yanked him backwards,” the arrest report said.

The victim said “he felt ashamed, nervous and embarrassed after the incident.”

Oliveira, who is a Brazilian native, speaks only Portuguese.

“Oliveira admitted to grabbing the back of (victim’s) jacket but denied grabbing his neck,” he told a Disney security guard who acted as a translator, according to the arrest report.

Disney World firefighters were called to evaluate the victim, and Oliveira was taken to jail.

Oliveira was charged with misdemeanor battery.

In late February, he took a plea deal where he pleaded no contest and was sentenced to two days in jail with credit for the two days he already served.

He was ordered to pay $474 in fines and court costs, Orange Circuit Court records showed.

The Public Defender’s Office, which represented him, declined to comment for this story.
