After missing the start of the festival, the Groot topiary is playing music once again for the 2025 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.
Groot Topiary Playing Music

The Groot topiary is located in a garden near the entrance to Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. The topiary made its debut last year, but its location has changed since 2024. When Groot first appeared last year, the topiary would play a song from nearby speakers once every 20 minutes. As the music played, the wheels inside Groot’s cassette tape would spin. The tape reads βGreen-House Mix Vol. 1,β a play on βAwesome Mix Vol. 1″ from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” film.
When Groot returned for the Flower & Garden Festival this year, he was not playing any music and his cassette tape remained stationery. The sound effect is now mostly working again, and Groot’s music has returned. However, the cassette wheels still aren’t turning.

Groot plays plays music more frequently this year, with a new song playing roughly once every 15 minutes instead of 20 minutes. Groot’s playlist includes five songs: βCome and Get Your Love,β βEscape (The PiΓ±a Colada Song),β βI Want You Back,β βMr. Blue Sky,β and “Disco Inferno.” Four of the songs are all repeated from last year, while “Disco Inferno” is new for 2025. The effect of the cassette tape moving, however, has still not returned.
“Disco Inferno” was actually listed as one of the songs on Groot’s playlist last year, but it never actually made an appearance in the park. The five songs repeat in a set order, so if you sit near the topiary for a while you can hear all five. Interestingly, all of the speakers in this right section of World Discovery were playing the music, so you could also hear Groot’s playlist near the Donald Duck topiary by the Community Garden.
