The statue of the influential MCA Inc. president Lew Wasserman is missing despite recent relocation to Universal Studios Florida’s Central Park.
Lew Wasserman Statue
The statue of Lew Wasserman was recently installed permanently in the Central Park area, facing away from the lagoon and into the park. The plaque adorning the pedestal remains despite the absence of the statue, and is covered with a gray plastic cap.
The Lew Wasserman statue was first removed from Universal Studios Florida in May 2024. Prior to that, the statue was located more centrally in the New York land. However, the statue was in the parade route path and had to be removed for large portions of the year.
Earlier this month, we found blue construction walls had been erected inside Central Park, partially obstructing the walkway to guests. Speakers utilized during the nighttime CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular are visible over the top of the wall. CineSational does not have any showtimes listed until April 14, 2025, but we can presume that the construction walls will be removed around that date in time for the first showing.
