Fort Wilderness Cabins on Airbnb

Airbnb Superhost Magical Sunshine Properties acquired the three cabins and set them up on a lot in Davenport, Florida, not far from Walt Disney World Resort.
These cabins were removed from Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort in early 2024 and replaced by new Disney Vacation Club cabins. Disney sold the cabins to various buyers, who have repurposed them. Some even popped up on Facebook Marketplace.

The site is called JR Cabins and bookings are now open. The cabins can be booked individually or all together.

Magical Sunshine has kept the cabins in approximately their original conditions, including many of the original Disney furnishings. They’ve extended the patio to nearly the full-length of each cabin, with log-style railings.

Each patio is furnished with a swinging bench, two chairs, and a picnic table with an umbrella. The cabins offer high speed WiFi.
Inside, the cabin is just like we remember. A sofa and chair sit in front of the mounted SmartTV. Lanterns hang above the oval dining table, which is surrounded by an upholstered bench and chairs.
A cactus sits in a barrel-shaped planter on the table. They provide family board games.
There’s even a Mickey-shaped pillow on the sofa.
The kitchen is intact with cabinet space, a dishwasher, a fridge, and a microwave. It’s fully stocked with utensils, pots, pans, etc.
There is a toaster and a Keurig on the counter. They provide pods and ground coffee, plus four bottles of water.
Each cabin has one bedroom that sleeps four, but the sofa pulls out into a bed that can sleep two more. The bedroom has a queen bed and a bunkbed. While Disney switched to plain white linens years ago, Magical Sunshine has opted to add some color to the room with green bedding.
There’s a light above each bunk featuring animal silhouettes.
A small TV is on a built-in dresser. The closet has a curtain across the front. There’s an exit door in the bedroom as well as in the living room.
There is a full bathroom in each cabin with a bathtub and shower. Magical Sunshine provides toiletries and towels.
The mounted shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are even the classic H2O+ products that Disney acquired.
The property also includes a laundry room, shared between all three cabins. It features barn doors.
Inside are two washers and two dryers. There’s a long table supported by barrels for folding. There’s a ceiling fan to keep the room cool. Magical Sunshine provides each property with one laundry detergent.
There is a grill outside each cabin with utensils and charcoal.
There’s also a fire pit, shared by all the cabins. It’s complete with chairs and log stools. One bag of firewood is provided.
There’s an outdoor pavilion, also shared between the cabins. It features yard games and picnic tables. Games include bocce, badminton, corn hole, croquet, and life-size connect four.
The pavilion is rigged with lighting so you can enjoy it in the evenings.
There is a 2-car parking space for each cabin inside the gated campground. No pets are allowed. A pack and play and stroller are available upon request for no extra cost. Additional supplies like extra toiletries and firewood can be purchased.
Magical Sunshine does not allow parties but can provide extra surprises for guests celebrating a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary.
