According to a new article from The Hollywood Reporter, the Disney+ original series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” has been confirmed to receive a third season.
‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Season 3

“Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is a Disney+ original series that premiered its first season starting in December of 2023. The series quickly broke records, becoming the “the top Disney Branded Television premiere of all time” as well as “one of the top five season premieres of 2023,” with 13.3 million viewers in its first six days of streaming according to a Disney spokesperson.
After its record-breaking premiere, it came as no surprise that Disney announced the series would be renewed for a second season. It was also confirmed that the second season would chronologically follow the book series of the same name. The first season was inspired by the first novel in the series by Rick Riordan, “The Lightning Thief,” while season two will be inspired by the second book, “The Sea of Monsters.”

Now, according to a new article from The Hollywood Reporter, Disney has preemptively renewed “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” for a third season. A Disney spokesperson commented, “With season two set to premiere this December, we’re thrilled to announce that Percy’s journey will continue with a third season.” As expected, this third season will adapt “The Titan’s Curse,” the third book in the Rick Riordan series.
Riordan, who also acts as co-creator of the series, confirmed the third season will include several fan-favorite characters, including the introduction of Nico di Angelo:
“We’re so grateful to be continuing the story of Percy Jackson on Disney+. This third season will be new territory for the screen, bringing fan favorites like the Hunters of Artemis and Nico di Angelo to life for the first time. It’s a huge sign of commitment from Disney, and speaks volumes about the enthusiasm with which the fandom has embraced the TV show. Thank you, demigods worldwide!”

The series stars Walker Scobell as Percy Jackson, a young boy who learns that he’s the demigod son of Poseidon. Leah Sava Jeffries portrays his friend and daughter of Athena, Annabeth Chase. Aryan Simhadri completes the main trio as Grover Underwood the satyr. Actor Courtney B. Vance will also be taking over the role of Zeus in the second season, in place of the late Lance Reddick.
As part of the season three announcement, the Disney spokesperson also confirmed that season 2 will be released in December of 2025. No exact release date has been announced yet, and so far Disney has only released a short start-of-production teaser for the second season. The hope is that with this early renewal for season three, the production gap between the release of each season will be reduced.
