During the busy holiday season, Disneyland experimented with a new offering in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo Nighttime Gathering was a dining package that included reserved viewing for the Fire of the Rising Moons fireworks.
The experience has been discontinued, but with Season of the Force and a new fireworks show coming to Batuu, we suspect we will see the return of this offering (or something similar).
We tried the experience back in November 2024 when it first arrived.
Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo Nighttime Gathering
About

The Nighttime Gathering was $89 per person, tax inclusive. Gratuity was not included in that price. Children 2 and under could attend free of charge. The experience included a selection of snacks and desserts, unlimited fountain beverages, and a specialty beverage in a souvenir vessel. Each guest received a souvenir credential to show they had the reserved fireworks viewing.

Guests checked in at Docking Bay 7 Food & Cargo. All persons in their party had to be present at the time. Once the Cast Member checked the group in, they could proceed inside the restaurant to select drinks and pick up their food rations. Dining was available both inside and outside the restaurant.
The digital signs over the counter had a special Nighttime Gathering graphic in the center. The two side signs read, “Failure to load,” in Aurebesh.

Food Review
Fried Cheeseburger Croquette Bites
The sauce was unlisted, but we suspect it’s some kind of Thousand Island Dressing.
It has a thin, crispy coating around beef with cheese in the center. They’re weird but good. The beef has a hint of spice. It doesn’t need the sauce, but it adds extra moisture.

Apricot Goat Cheese
topped with honey, za’atar, sour cherry gel, cheddar, Monterey jack and pita chips

It’s very goat cheese-heavy, but it’s good quality with nice accompaniments. It’s like a tiny charcuterie plate and we really enjoyed it. The goat cheese spread goes very well with the pita chips.

Dragon Fruit Yogurt
topped with lychee popping pearls and fresh blueberries
In addition to the popping pearls and blueberries, this is topped with edible flowers that may be the same from Oga’s Cantina’s Millaflower Toast. The blueberries are big and fresh. It’s a nice, refreshing yogurt. And it’s something different.

Cream Puff Pair
Black Caf cold brew and blue milk flavors

Everyone loves the Black Caf, but this cream puff has a smoky, earthy flavor that turns us off a bit. It’s not as good as we had hoped it would be. It tastes like a decent buffet pastry, with a little bit of chocolate and coffee flavor. Unfortunately, our pastry was not fresh.
Rank out of 7: 4
How could Disney ruin not only Blue Milk, but cream puffs? Do they know that guests don’t enjoy Blue Milk? The cream puff tastes exactly like the drink: gross.
Rank out of 7: 2, only because the presentation is cute.
Tropical Soda
topped with cotton candy and served in a souvenir Sap Tap Cup
The presentation is gorgeous. The light-up Sap Tap Cups illuminate the drink inside for a fun nighttime drink. We have no idea what “Tropical Soda” is, since no one could say, but it certainly tasted like a Coke product. It’s good.
Fireworks Viewing Experience

The area outside Docking Bay 7, which is slightly elevated over the regular viewing area, was cordoned off ahead of the event by metal gates and monitored by Cast Members. A sign reading “Keep Out” hung from one of the blockades. Beneath the warning in English (also known as Basic), the sign reads, “Caution | Maintenance in Progress” in Aurebesh, the fictional written language predominant in the Star Wars universe.

The area did not have enough front-row spots for all attendees but it was barely filled otherwise.

Overall
We’ve been to far worse dessert parties, and some of the desserts here were quite disappointing. Not to mention, it was also quite expensive, more than we would have liked to have paid for the quality of the experience.
Price Value
The Sap Tap Cup is $17.99. Fountain beverages are $4.59.
