Scaffolding Removed at Upcoming DVC Welcome Home Center in EPCOT

Scaffolding has now been removed at the upcoming Disney Vacation Club “Welcome Home Center” in the Canada Pavilion of EPCOT.

A disassembled totem pole lies on the pavement in front of a wooden structure adorned with Indigenous designs and a stone building with a peaked roof. Construction walls partially block the view.

Construction has been ongoing in the Canada Pavilion for over a year and we now know that it’s at least partially for this Welcome Home Center, named Château de Voyage, which will be located in the Hotel du Canada building modeled after the real-life Château Laurier hotel in Ottawa.

There has been construction on the upper level of the Canada Pavilion on and off since the summer of 2023. Initially, the Hotel du Canada facade was simply renovated. However, since construction resumed last summer, crews have added an awning to the back of the fake hotel, and Walt Disney Imagineering filed a Notice of Commencement permit for the signage installation at the Canada Pavilion of EPCOT, sparking rumors that Disney is adding a new shopping or dining location.

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) recently announced this addition to EPCOT which will be the first-ever in-park Welcome Home Center at Walt Disney World. Guests will be able to learn more about DVC Membership and tour a model room of the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.

Hotel du Canada was once home to the shop Le Boutiques des Provinces. The upscale shop opened in 1987 and sold jewelry, perfumes, Christmas ornaments, and more. It closed sometime in the early 2000s. The upper level of the Canada Pavilion has not had any other offerings since then.

Now that scaffolding is down and we have official word on what the space will be, the opening date is likely just around the corner.
