Walt Disney Imagineering shared an inside look at the construction progress of the new Pirates of the Caribbean-themed Tavern coming to the Magic Kingdom.
The behind-the-scenes look was shared in an Instagram reel from Disney Imagineering (@waltdisneyimagineering).
During the video, Imagineer Montse speaks about the future of the Pirates of the Caribbean-themed lounge that’s set to opening late 2025.

Montse first shares that behind the spot she’s standing in will be where the bar is located which will include an audio-animatronic Barker Bird known as Peg-Leg Pete. From 1973 to 2006, the Barker Bird was located outside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction inviting guests inside.

She then shares a glimpse into the Captain’s Quarters which is an area where guests will be able to sit and enjoy the food and drinks the lounge has to offer.

The lounge is currently under construction next to the Plaza Del Sol Caribe Bazar which is the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop. It is taking over the former space of the Pirates League.
Per the Disney Parks Blog, the lounge will “welcome pirates of all ages with a sea-worthy selection of grogs and grub, and strike me colors, there may be more than a few mysterious and magical surprises in store!”
