New Logo, First Official Images From ‘The Mandalorian and Grogu’

A new logo, new images, and a trailer for “The Mandalorian and Grogu” were shown at Star Wars Celebration Japan.

The Mandalorian and Grogu

Movie title graphic reads "Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu. In theaters May 2026" against a starry space background.

While the previous logo for “The Mandalorian and Grogu” featured Mando’s and Grogu’s iconic silhouettes, the new logo takes a simpler route. The letters have a metallic finish, with “Mandalorian” in silver and “Grogu” in green.

Behind-the-scenes photos showed Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau on set, including inside an AT-AT Walker, which they built in full.

One of the new images shows Grogu, a.k.a. Baby Yoda, clinging to Mando’s back. They appear to be in a bar.

Another photo showed four Anzellans inside Grogu’s floating crib. An Anzellan appeared on stage as a droidsmith atop a BDX droids.

Speaking of BDX droids, another behind-the-scenes photo showed the quartet of droids with Sigourney Weaver and Jon Favreau. This is our first look at Weaver’s look in the film, revealing her to be a New Republic pilot.

The BDX droids from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge are named Besh, Grek, Oskar, and Red, but they might have different names for their film debut.

Pedro Pascal and Grogu both appeared onstage, alongside Weaver, the Anzellan, and the droids.

One of the biggest reveals was a look at Pascal as Din Djarin, a.k.a. The Mandalorian, without his helmet on.

Another image shows more of the return of Zeb Orrelios, who first appeared in the animated show “Star Wars Rebels.” He made his live action debut in season three of “The Mandalorian.”

Djarin famously does not remove his helmet in front of others, except for one or two exceptions.

Filming was not allowed during the trailer shown and Disney has not released it online. Star Wars Holocron provided this description on X:

Sigourney Weaver hires Din Djarin for a job. Din takes down a ton of Snowtroopers in a one-take sequence inside an AT-AT Walker. They blow up an AT-AT on the side of a mountain on a snowy planet. Grogu swims! And uses the Force to destroy a mouse droid. The end of the trailer features a first look at Rotta the Hutt with his arms raised in a gladiator arena.

Rotta the Hutt will be voiced by Jeremy Allen White. An infant when he first appeared in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” Rotta is an adult in “The Mandalorian and Grogu.”

“The Mandalorian and Grogu” will be in theaters May 22, 2026.
