More Construction Walls Added to The Seas in EPCOT

Crews have set up more construction walls around the tanks of The Seas pavilion in EPCOT.

The Seas Construction Walls

Indoor queue area with people standing and walking, featuring stairs, railings, and directional signs under artificial lighting.

A month ago, construction walls were erected around the escalators, to either side of the tunnel exit of The Seas with Nemo & Friends. These walls remain, and the escalators are closed to guests. The stairs and elevators are open for second-floor access.

A dimly lit hallway with blue walls, a wall-mounted screen on the left, and a blank sign on the right wall; ceiling lights cast soft illumination.

There are also construction walls around the escalators upstairs. These block views into the nearby tanks. Guests can still see into the tanks from the nearby tunnel and circular viewing area.

A hallway in an aquarium leads to exhibits for sea turtles, sharks, rays, and reef fish; two people stand on the left, display screens are mounted on blue walls.

The newly added construction walls are down the right side of the tunnel.

The walls are covered in black fabric and run the length of the tunnel.

The fish and other sea creature residents of the tank can still be seen from the large viewing area. There appears to be no construction inside the tank.

Disney has not made any announcements regarding construction work in The Seas.

The pavilion’s scuba experience, DiveQuest, will return next month after a six-month absence.

The Seas recently transitioned to a short-term rehabilitation center. Long-term dolphin and manatee residents were relocated. Three short-term manatee residents have moved in over the past few months.

A year ago, new “Finding Nemo” decorations were added to the Sea Base Alpha gift shop. In late 2023, The Seas’ facade was updated with new paint, refreshed character decorations, and upgraded lighting. Around the same time, an underwater effect was restored to the SeaBase.

In 2023, The Seas Cast Members got new environmentally-friendly costumes with the opening of Journey of Water, Inspired by “Moana” nearby.
