Most of the scrim surrounding Carthay Circle at Disney California Adventure has come down amid a refurbishment to the exterior of the restaurant.
Carthay Circle Construction

After being completely covered with printed themed scrims meant to “camouflage” the construction, the majority of the facade of Carthay Circle has been revealed.

The scrim which was wrapped around scaffolding that covered the iconic tower, most of the marquee, and the right side of the building, now only covers the left side of the building. Tan construction walls are also still present along the left side.

Refurbishment on the Carthay Circle façade began in February, and scrim and scaffolding went up in March.

It appears that general work and routine exterior refurbishment of the restaurant has occurred beyond the scrim including new metal speaker covers.

Some new lighting equipment can now also be seen on the restaurant’s facade.
The restaurant is modeled after the original Carthay Circle Theater built in 1926, considered one of the great movie palaces of the golden age of Hollywood. Walt Disney’s first feature-length film, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” premiered at the theater in 1937. Screen-used costumes from the live-action “Snow White” are currently on display inside Carthay Circle Restaurant.
The menu offers Southern California-inspired cuisine with ingredients that are sourced locally as well as retro-style cocktails.
