Construction walls and scrim have gone up at Carthay Circle Restaurant in Disney California Adventure.
Carthay Circle Restaurant Construction

The construction walls and scrim are likely for routine exterior refurbishment of the restaurant. Tan scrim and scaffolding are visible behind the construction wall along the side of the building leading down Performance Corridor.

Along the side of the construction wall is a poster that reads “The show must go on! At the world famous Carthay Circle Restaurant. The Celebration is open.” A red directional arrow is at the bottom of the poster and reads “this way” pointing guests in the direction to the entrance.

Around the corner, leading onto Buena Vista Street, you can see more of the scaffolding through the scrim. A pathway has been left open for guests to still pass under the exterior facade amid the construction.

To the left of the entrance, scaffolding has been set up behind the construction walls in front of the side of the marquee sign that reads “Carthay Circle.”

The construction walls continue past the two pillars underneath the front marquee sign for the restaurant, past the check-in podium, and up to the doorway.
The restaurant is designed as a reproduction of the original Carthay Circle Theater built in 1926 which was one of the great movie palaces of the golden age of Hollywood. In 1937, Walt Disney’s first feature-length film “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” premiered there.
The menu offers Southern California-inspired cuisine with ingredients that are sourced locally as well as retro-style cocktails.
