According to the BBC, a source close to the Universal Studios Great Britain project has informed BBC what brands may appear at the recently announced park.

It’s rumored that some of the IP’s that guests will see include James Bond, Paddington, and “Lord of the Rings” among others. The article mentions that “rides and attractions related to Harry Potter are not expected to be included.” An article from The Hollywood Reporter referenced “Harry Potter” saying, “NBCUniversal, which has rights to ‘Harry Potter’ park attractions, may look to port over its Wizarding World to the country that originally made the franchise a smash bestseller.”

The BBC claims they have been told other sections of the park will be inspired by “Back to the Future,” “Jurassic Park,” and “Minions.” Their source claims that “contracts have been signed” and it would be unlikely that things would change.

According to the source, it’s rumored that a majority of the rides have already been designed with many being indoor attractions. The few rides not covered would be rollercoasters based on “Back to the Future,” “Jurassic Park,” and “Minions.” Allegedly there will be a stunt show based on 007, similar to The Bourne Stuntacular at Universal Studios Florida.

The BBC’s source also claims that a “Harry Potter”-themed area would not be included as the location of the new park is 40 minutes from the Warner Bros Studio Tour.

Universal states on its official website for the new project that, “it is too early in the process to know the possibilities of featured attractions and experiences,” and that “more details about the project will be revealed over time and are subject to the necessary planning consent approvals.”

Current plans also include a 500-room hotel as well as a retail, dining, and entertainment complex. Once opened, Universal Studios Great Britain will be the largest visitor attraction in the U.K. It’s expected that the new park will generate nearly $64 billion for the country’s economy by 2055 and attract an estimated 8.5 million visitors in its first year of operation.

Universal Studios Great Britain will be located in Bedford and is set to open in 2031.
