Director Destin Daniel Cretton revealed the title of the fourth Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Spider-Man film at CinemaCon.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day
The next installment will be titled “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” It will begin filming this summer. No plot details were shared along with the title.
Busy filming Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” Tom Holland didn’t attend CinemaCon in Las Vegas but appeared via video to say, “I know we left you with a massive cliff hanger at the end of ‘No Way Home,’ so ‘Spider Man: Brand New Day’ is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say.”
“Spider-Man: No Way Home” (2021) ended with Peter Parker erasing his identity from the universe, including the minds of his friends.
“I’m spending my time exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world,” said Cretton, who also directed “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” “We’re all, just daily, nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before.”
“Brand New Day” will be in theaters on July 31, 2026, having been pushed back a few days from its original July 24, 2026 release date. In addition to Holland, the fourth film stars Sadie Sink. She’s rumored to play a version of X-Man Jean Grey.
Holland was not included in the “Avengers: Doomsday” cast announcement, although several X-Men actors were. “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” will bookend “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” releasing on May 1, 2026, and May 7, 2027.
