Construction continues on the new Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood, with most sections of the track nearly complete.

Since our last construction update, the building that will become the attraction’s main queue appears to be complete. This building is supposed to look like a large brick garage, according to Universal. The building now has windows installed on the lower level, and lights are visible in the interior of the building. A section of scaffolding is still present on the left side, but the building looks nearly complete.

Universal first announced the new rollercoaster coming to Hollywood in 2023, with the official name and ride details arriving in 2024. Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift has been described by Universal as a rollercoaster with a state-of-the-art ride system that allows for 360-degree rotation for each individual ride vehicle. The attraction is meant to emulate the feeling of cars drifting on the street.

A large curved section of track is visible on the left side of the queue building. This section is completely flat, so it is possible this section is merely for helping the vehicles to get to and from the loading area.

More of the construction work on the roller coaster can be seen on the side of the garage building from the walkway leading to the Lower Lot. Most of the track in this area has now been installed, and it appears that the main attraction loop has been completed. Notably, one curve of the attraction will take the ride vehicles underneath and then over the glass-roofed walkway connecting the two lots.

The area behind the garage building also appears to be mostly completed, with almost all of the track sections now connected. The supports for the track are all grey with concrete supports buried in the dirt of the hillside.

The track further to the right of the walkway spills over the edge of the Upper Lot and across the side of the nearby hill. Several of these track sections have sharp twists and turns, perhaps to further simulate the feeling of drifting a car.

Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift is expected to open sometime in 2026. In the meantime, Fast & Furious – Supercharged was permanently removed from the Studio Tour in March 2025. Universal has not shared any updates yet on whether the Florida version of the attraction will also permanently close.
