JoJo Siwa’s mom shared the singer and social media personality’s audition tape for the role of Rapunzel in the indefinitely delayed live-action “Tangled.”
JoJo Siwa’s Rapunzel Audition
While JoJo Siwa is currently living in the “Celebrity Big Brother” house, her mom, Jessalyn Siwa, is in charge of her social media. On Wednesday, Jessalyn posted JoJo’s self-tape for the “Tangled” adaptation, writing, “Well I heard they are not making the live action Tangled anymore soooo thought I could share this audition tape – don’t you think she would have made the perfectttt Rapunzel.”
The video garnered almost 2 million views before it was deleted from JoJo’s account. It’s been reshared, however, including by broadway.4me on Instagram.
In the video, JoJo performs a one-minute conversation between Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. Someone off-camera provides Flynn’s lines. JoJo did her hair in a braid with flowers for the occasion.
The live-action “Tangled” remake was in the works for at least five years before being put on indefinite hold. It was reportedly in active development with Michael Gracey (“The Greatest Showman”) attached to direct and Kaytin Robinson (“Thor: Love and Thunder”) writing the screenplay. Disney hit pause on the project after a disappointing box office result for their live-action “Snow White.”
The original animated “Tangled,” released in 2010, made $600 million worldwide. Mandy Moore voiced Rapunzel for the movie and the sequel TV series.
What do you think of Siwa’s self-tape audition? Would she have made a good live-action Rapunzel? Share your thoughts with us on social media.
