At CinemaCon this week, Disney unveiled a new teaser for the film, with star Jared Leto saying, “This movie will hit you right in the grid,” per Deadline

The official trailer has now been shared on social media. Check it out here:

The trailer begins with police chasing two characters riding light cycles with red lights. One of the cyclist emits a laser line which splits the police car into two halves. The scene then shifts to an on-looker as “worlds collide.” A narrator then states, “I’m looking for something, something I do not understand.” Previous reports indicated that the film would focus on the emergence of a sentient program that crosses over into the human world that is not ready for contact.” (via THR). The rest of the film’s trailer seems to confirm that report as technology and figures from the TRON program ascend into the human world.

The film is directed by Joachim Rønning. Other members of the cast include Greta Lee, Evan Peters, Hasan Minhaj, Jodie Turner-Smith, Arturo Castro, Cameron Monaghan, and Gillian Anderson.

Disney shared a first image of “TRON: Ares” in February 2024 and production for the film began in January 2024. The film will hit theaters on October 10, 2025.
