We were able to check out the Epic Universe Portals Tour on its first stop in Atlanta, Georgia.

Recently, Universal announced an Epic Universe Portals Tour, said to include a “glimpse of the adventures that await in the immersive new theme park.” Universal stated that the highlight of the tour is this 30-foot-tall replica of the Chronos that is situated by the main entrance to Epic Universe. The announcement article describes how guests “will be invited to approach the mesmerizing portal structure to witness action-packed sequences that celebrate the incredible adventures of the new theme park” while also snapping a few photos and enjoying a nighttime lights show.

We were able to visit the tour’s first stop in Atlanta, Georgia. The location is between World of Coca-Cola and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights (currently closed for construction).

Guests of the experience wait in line on one side that just has the portal concept art. Approximately every three minutes, the hosts let groups walk to the other side to view a concept video.
The video highlights each of the new Epic Universe lands in brief overviews starting with Celestial park, then moving to Dark Universe, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Ministry of Magic, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and finally Super Nintendo World.

At the end of the concept video and on signs around the area, there is a QR code which leads to a giveaway entry for a 5-night trip for four people which includes:
- Round trip airfare to Orlando, Florida
- Ground transportation between the airport and hotel
- Accommodations at Universal Helios Grand Hotel
- Admission to Epic Universe plus a 3-Park- 4 Day Park to Park Ticket
This sweepstakes is similar to the one previously announced by TODAY, where guests receive one day at Epic Universe along with days at the other Universal Orlando Parks.
The tour has been confirmed to make stops in Atlanta, New York City, Philadelphia, and Chicago. The full dates and locations are as follows:
- April 11-13: Atlanta, Georgia (Pemberton Place, adjacent to World of Coca-Cola)
- April 23-26: New York, New York (Rockefeller Center)
- May 16-18: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (The Rocky Steps)
- June 13-18: Chicago, Illinois (Pioneer Court)
