Sunset Showcase at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has a new sign for “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After,” which opens next week.

The new show has been hosting Cast Member previews. Because of the previews, we couldn’t see as much into the Sunset Showcase courtyard as usual, but the frames on the wall to the right are still empty, and the backstage gate still appears to be plain white.
The new sign is on the left side of the courtyard’s entrance. This pole held a Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy sign just days ago. The formerly white poles were painted gold, a new decorative fencing was installed between them, and a new sign was installed on top of the tallest.
The crest-shaped sign has no lettering yet. A scrim was taped over the sign, with part of it falling down, but nothing except gold paint was visible underneath. It will likely feature the show’s name.
There has been progress on the mural above the entrance to Sunset Showcase. Though we couldn’t get a good look at the mural, we did see that tape and tarps were removed from around the golden “Villains: Unfairly Ever After” lettering.
The mural still has rough edges, so work isn’t done. “Disney” will probably be added above the word “Villains” since it’s part of the official name.
“Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After” opens on May 27, the same day as “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.” Check out showtimes for both and a sneak peek at “Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After.”
