Test Track is set to open at EPCOT sometime this summer, and work on the exterior appears to be wrapping up as preparation for signage has begun.
Test Track Construction
In our last update, trucks were parked just outside the main entrance to Test Track. Now, the trucks are gone, replaced by several orange caution cones. The cones are mostly blocking off the entrance under the roof structure and the circular area where the new Test Track sign will go.
A layer of concrete has also been poured in preparation for the new sign. Previously, the circular hole was filled with dirt. Under the overhang, concrete work is complete. However, more caution cones and construction equipment are still present.
Scaffolding has also returned to the entry path, but this time, on wheels. There are bases near the top of each to allow a crew member to sit or stand. The rolling scaffolding is likely for construction crew members to easily move about while working on finishing details of the exterior of Test Track. More construction equipment sits just inside the walls, along with some wooden pallets on a manual lift. Landscaping will also need to be completed in the large dirt area.
Between the entrance of the ride and the exit of Test Track SIMporium, concrete work on guest pathways also appears complete. Almost the entire guest walkway leading to the gift shop was torn apart when the construction began. The shop closed with the rest of the attraction, though no significant changes have been made to its signage so far.
Test Track has been closed since 2024 while the ride is reimagined into its newest iteration. Disney has said this latest version will take inspiration from the former World of Motion attraction. Test Track is currently scheduled to reopen sometime in the summer of 2025, though no exact date has been shared yet.
Walt Disney Imagineering also recently shared a short video with a first look at the reimagined Test Track ride vehicles, which have been seen testing on the attraction for a few weeks.
