The first panels for the walls of Disney Lakeshore Lodge are beginning to arrive as the construction project at Walt Disney World continues.
Disney Lakeshore Lodge Construction

A grand total of six cranes of various colors and sizes are now parked around the construction zone for the new Disney Lakeshore Lodge. As during our previous update, the short yellow crane is placed by the Floatmaster on the lake.

Though there was no flying toilet this time, the cranes were still hard at work transporting materials to the steadily-increasing hotel buildings.

More structures have been built on the exterior side of this first building. The third and fourth floors now have the basic metal framing for the exterior walls and the windows leading to the guest rooms.

Some sections of the building are taller than the others, with the tallest section currently standing seven stories tall. Permits imply the building will be a total of 10 stories.

A cement mixer truck is now parked on the back side of the building. Most of the area surrounding the building has been covered in flattened dirt, though we may start to see some concrete poured in this section soon.

By the corner of this building, the second and third floors are also getting early wall panels installed on the exterior side.

On the building furthest to the left, most of the second and third floors now have white panels lining the exterior of the walls. The panels have rectangular holes for what we expect will be windows.

The fourth floor does not have the exterior panels yet, but most of the window frames now have the extra metal posts required for the panels to be installed.

The walls continue around the corner on the left side for the second floor, but most of the third floor is still exposed.

Further to the right of the main building structure, a smaller building is also in progress.

This shorter structure has roughly the same height as the first floor of what is expected to be the main building. It is currently connecting the tallest building section to a shorter section on the far right.

Work also continues on the ground for what is expected to be a group of outdoor cabanas.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge is rumored to have a feature pool with a lazy river, similar in concept to Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts. As a result, the construction zone encompasses a portion of what used to be a beach for guests at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort.

More of the exterior work is visible above the construction walls surrounding Fort Wilderness.

Through the open windows, we can see where the interior walls are also starting to receive basic supports and framing.

The pile of air ducts is still present on the fourth floor, likely waiting to be attached to the ceiling in the hallway. Crew members were also in the process of bringing some new supplies to the fifth floor.

Disney Lakeshore Lodge is expected to open sometime in 2027, though no official date has been announced yet. Disney Lakeshore Lodge replaces the previous plans in this area for Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge, but no new concept art has been shared since the project’s name changed.
