There are fresh cobblestones behind the Haunted Mansion ghost hearse at Magic Kingdom, as part of ongoing work on the sidewalks at the the attraction’s exit.
The Haunted Mansion Exit Sidewalks
Last month, construction walls and tarps went up behind the ghostly hearse near the exit path for the Haunted Mansion. When the walls were removed a few weeks later, temporary black boards were revealed on the ground. More of the old cobblestones have since been removed, and additional black boards were placed on the path leading right up to the exit archway.
There were previously black boards placed directly between the exit columns. The boards have been replaced with large gray square stones, matching the size and shape of those further into the exit queue. The new stones are darker, however, and some of their staining has bled onto the old stones.
Directly behind the Haunted Mansion hearse is a new array of curved cobblestones. These match the style of the stones in the rest of the area, although these appear much fresher since they haven’t been walked on yet.

For comparison, above is pictured an old section of stones next to the new stones on the right.
The brick trim on the sidewalk may be replaced as well, but hasn’t yet been removed. The black boards are currently cut around the trim.
These black boards in front of the pet cemetery are starting to show significant wear and tear. They bend slightly underfoot when walked on. Hopefully they are replaced soon.
