Just in time for a stormy day in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the latest expanded seating section near Woody’s Lunch Box is now open to guests.

We have been following the lack of covered shade areas in Toy Story Land for over three years now. Work first began on adding new roof structures to the seating area of Woody’s Lunch Box in early 2022. Despite the 2022 start date, however, progress on the structures has been extremely slow, and the first new roof only opened to guests this April. Since then, work has also taken place on a new building to the side of the Toy Story Mania! exit queue.

A second section of newly-covered seating opened earlier this month. Now, as of May 31, the entire front half of the new roof structure is now open.

All of the previous construction walls seen during our last updates have been removed from the front half of the seating area. The space has now been filled with new tables and chairs in bright colors to match the rest of the land.

As we saw with the first structure, the roofs are all covered in blue plastic panels meant to look like they are constructed out of building toys.

The gardens and edges of the structures are blocked with multicolored railings that also look like a building toy set. Some trash cans in green, blue, and yellow have been placed nearby for guests finishing their food at the tables.

There is a section of shorter tables that match the height of the nearby chairs and a section of taller tables that would be optimal for standing.

Now that the construction walls have been removed, a few of the other tables not covered by the structures are shaded with green folding umbrellas. The umbrellas were already present near Woody’s Lunch Box, but there appears to be more of them now that the walkway is bigger.

The blue roofs have built-in lights placed within the building-toy-style holes. The yellow bulbs do not put out lots of light during the day, but they help keep this exterior area lit at night.

Green construction walls block off an area near plants and a sign, with a rainy path and green railing in front.

The section closer to the Toy Story Mania! queue and the new building is still wrapped in green construction walls. Earlier in May, Disney filed a new construction permit for the general area of Toy Story Mania! that was assumed to be related to the ongoing seating and queue work. This permit does not expire until September 2025.
