Progress continues on the Universal Studios Store expansion in Universal CityWalk Orlando, with Nintendo characters and logos for Super Nintendo World added to the exterior.
Nintendo Characters Added to Universal Studios Store
On Monday, flats were added on top of the yellow exterior walls. Each one was painted yellow to match their background. Here, near the movie theater, you can easily tell that the three characters are various versions of Yoshi. The logo for Super Nintendo World is also present.
In our previous update, construction walls came down completely around the shop expansion. This expansion pad was the former location of Quiet Flight Surf Shop and Cinnabon, both located to the right of the Universal Cinemark.

Near one of the new entrances to the store’s expansion, more flats featured silhouettes of Mario, Donkey Kong, Princess Daisy, Princess Peach, Luigi, and Toad.

On Thursday, May 7, we visited CityWalk to find that graphics have been installed where their placeholders were, indicating the expansion is wrapping up exterior work.
Though blocked by temporary stanchions, the blue, pink, and green Yoshis stand on blocks. The Super Nintendo World logo is included between them.

Turning the corner, the overhang above the expansion’s entrance is lined with a brick block row, dotted with occasional POW, empty, and ? blocks.
A Super Nintendo World sign was also installed. The world’s logo is 3D on the red diamond-patterned sign, which hangs just below the sign for Moe’s Southwest Grill.
To the right of the entrance, the flats for Mario and Donkey Kong have been installed, along with the Super Nintendo World Logo. Mario is in his iconic “Wahoo!” pose, with DK mid-clap.
On the left side of the entrance, the graphics for Princess Daisy, Princess Peach, Luigi, and Toad have all been put in place, as well. Daisy and Peach stand together, offering a wink, while Luigi tips his cap and Toad jumps for joy.
No opening date has been announced for the shop’s expansion, which will include new Harry Potter and Super Nintendo World sections — but with this update, opening doesn’t seem that far away.
