Disney Cruise Line shared a sneak peek at the textiles Imagineers are creating for Cafe Megara on the Disney Destiny.

Cafe Megara Textiles

In an Instagram post, Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Parks shared images of various textiles to be used throughout the “Hercules”-inspired cafe. Color test print samples showcase a Pegasus wall pattern. There are more color test print samples for purple wall coverings. There are also various cafe floor stone finishes, lounge chair fabrics, and Grecian-style accent wall tiles. Plus, a custom carpet pattern inspired by the clouds of Mount Olympus is also teased.

From the barstool and lounge chair fabrics to the accent wall tiles, each design detail in Café Megara is handpicked by Imagineers to create a vibrant space with nods to the ancient world of Greek mythology and legendary heroes. The color palette is inspired by the film’s iconic characters, Megara and Pegasus, and incorporates shades of purple and blue.

Walt Disney Imagineers Beth Burkhardt and Rachel Willcoxon can be seen reviewing textile samples that will come together to transport future café guests to Mount Olympus, including a custom cloud-like carpet pattern and wallpaper with hidden designs of Pegasus leaping through the clouds. As the Imagineers finalize their selections, the shipyard team transforms the space from zero to hero!

Cafe Megara is one of two new walk-up cafes off the Grand Hall. The other is Cafe Merida, inspired by the princess of Pixar’s “Brave.”

A stage performance depicts a figure battling a multi-headed, purple dragon-like creature under dramatic lighting, reminiscent of a Disney fantasy, with an audience watching spellbound by its destiny.

“Hercules” will also be represented on the Disney Destiny via a new Broadway-style show, including a multi-headed Hydra puppet. This is Disney Cruise Line’s second iteration of “Hercules.” The ship’s other two stage shows will be “Frozen, A Musical Spectacular” and “Disney Seas the Adventure.”

Other dining venues and bars aboard the Disney Destiny include Edna Á La Mode Sweets, The SanctumCask and CannonDe Vil’s, Haunted Mansion Parlor, and Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King.

Large ship with a decorative bow is in a dry dock, partially submerged in water, surrounded by a steel structure.

The ship was set afloat for the first time in March. Its maiden voyage is scheduled for November 20, 2025. It has heroes and villains theming, including a Black Panther statue in the Grand Hall and a Spider-Man figure on the stern.
