The expansion to the Universal Studios Store in Universal CityWalk Orlando has opened with a new Super Nintendo World section and a larger section dedicated to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Super Nintendo World
The store now takes up the entire first-floor space next to the Universal Cinemark. The Cinnabon and Quiet Flight Surf Shop, previously located next to the movie theater, closed a year ago. The new facade was completed over the past several months, with Super Nintendo World decorations added this week.
Tarps are gone from the windows, revealing mannequins and boxes displaying Super Nintendo World merchandise. The world is part of the new Epic Universe theme park, officially opening on May 22.
A red “Super Nintendo World” sign hangs over the entrance to the new part of the Universal Studios Store.
The interior blends the architectural styles of the pre-existing Universal Studios Store and Super Nintendo World, particularly Peach’s Castle. There is a checkerboard floor around the check-out counter. White pillars with gold trim hold up a round white ceiling.
A mural behind the counter shows Peach’s Castle and other Mushroom Kingdom elements. A glowing “Super Nintendo World” sign is in the center.
The shelves are painted red and blue. The boxes showcasing select merchandise feature a diamond pattern. Green warp pipes stick out of the blue ceiling.
The Super Nintendo World merchandise available includes items that were already released at Universal Orlando Resort, including items from Epic Universe.
Looking straight up into the warp pipes will reveal images of Super Nintendo World. Peach’s Castle, the world’s entrance, is shown at the top of a staircase.
Another pipe shows off Mt. Beanpole and part of Yoshi’s Adventure, one of the rides in Super Nintendo World. In the background is Donkey Kong Country.
Green pipes on the ground hold plush. More Mushroom Kingdom murals are behind the built-in shelves.

The columns of the space also resemble warp pipes. They are painted red, yellow, and green.

Super Nintendo World takes up the bulk of the expansion, facing the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Treats Room
Next to the Super Nintendo World section is a small area dedicated to sweet treats and other select Universal merchandise items.
This room loses the Super Nintendo World color scheme, instead opting for the standard blue and silver of the rest of the Universal Studios Store. The tile floor is blue and white with a speckled design.
There’s another check-out counter with the Universal Studios Florida globe logo behind it. The edge of its silver frame glows.
The merchandise in this area includes Simpsons-inspired items, cotton candy, and popcorn buckets. There’s a wall for guests to scoop their own custom candy mixes.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter
An archway leads into the expanded Wizarding World area. This is behind the rest of the Universal Studios Store and connects to the pre-existing “Harry Potter” room. It has a Butterbeer theme, with the counter resembling a bar in front of a wall of Butterbeer barrels.
Butterbeer is actually available to purchase. Guests can order cold, frozen, or hot Butterbeer. This counter is now the only place where guests can buy the wizarding beverage outside of the Universal Orlando theme parks.
Reflective signs on the ceiling advertise Butterbeer. Most of the merchandise in this space is Butterbeer-themed or otherwise related to “Harry Potter” food.
Instead of shelves, some of the merchandise is piled inside Butterbeer barrels.
There’s a gold Butterbeer stein for $37.99. The Time Turner popcorn bucket is also available.
Part of the room has Honeydukes signage, offering Honeydukes sweets and merchandise.
A silver archway leads into the rest of the “Harry Potter” space, exiting at the back of the pre-existing room where wands are available.

There were walls at the back of this room for a while, and we now know they were hiding the creation of this archway.
