Since the official opening of the Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, the lobby map has now been updated with several new details.
Polynesian Resort Lobby Map Updated

A large, art-style map of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort can be found on one of the walls on the ground floor of the Great Ceremonial House, just above a row of bench seating. Since 2022, the map hanging in the lobby has seen several changes. The alterations to the map began with the removal of Luau Cove, which was demolished to make way for the new tower.

It now appears that the lobby map has been updated once again. First, the most notable change to the map is the addition of the Island Tower beside the rest of the buildings. Matching the tower’s real-life location, the building is drawn on the far left side of the map in the area of the former Luau Cove building.
To match the art style, the Island Tower is depicted as much shorter in height with shades of dark brown and tan. From a distance, the tower appears to look more similar to the existing resort buildings on the map than it perhaps does in real life.

Another change is the font used for the “Polynesian Village” name in the bottom right corner. The name used to be written in a more stylized font with curved lines and added detailing inside a few of the larger letters. The new name is a bit more modern and simplified, with text in a straight line and blockier letters.
While a bit more difficult to compare, the lettering for the labels on each building also appear to have been updated. Like the resort name, the labels on each building used to have a stylized, curved font. The labels now appear to be written in the same straight font as the updated resort name, which is also the one used for the Island Tower addition.

Most of the other buildings and features for Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort appear unchanged, though it is possible the map was cleaned and refreshed as part of the update.
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is seeing lots of construction projects and updates, even following the opening of the Island Tower. Half of BouTiki is currently blocked off as the store undergoes refurbishment. Disney has also confirmed a new road entrance for the resort, which will be located off of Floridian Way. The current entrance, which is located on Seven Seas Drive, will become a bus-only entrance.
