Cool Ship in Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom has been completely removed, and is currently replaced with holes of dirt and mud due to some recent rain.
Cool Ship Construction

Just days ago, Cool Ship had become “cool dirt” as crews had torn up most of the pavement in the area. At that time, shrubs and flowers were still present in one the raised planters. Now, even those have been dug-up, leaving the entire area covered in dirt.

There’s still a circular divot in the dirt, which is located approximately where the kiosk used to stand. We didn’t see any crew members or construction vehicles on site during this update, but the area is still muddy from the recent rain, likely delaying construction.

Cool Ship closed in late May, and the kiosk, as well as the attached Cool Scanner, was quickly dismantled and removed. According to the Walt Disney World official website, Cool Ship is “temporarily closed for refurbishment and is expected to reopen later this year.”

The Cool Ship kiosk offered drinks and snacks like popcorn, cotton candy, and ice cream novelties, as well as beverages. Guests can still get refreshments and snacks in Tomorrowland at Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies, The Lunching Pad, and Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.
In other construction news, according to some public records, six new construction permits have been filed for the same area located behind Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World. The six new construction permits were all filed on the same day and list the same address of “1700 Floridian Way, Bay Lake, FL.” This address is not a part of Magic Kingdom, but appears on maps as the space just behind the Fantasyland and Frontierland sections of the park. These new permits could be related to some of the upcoming lands, such as the “Cars” expansion of Frontierland or the Villains land behind Big Thunder Mountain.
