Crews have started to install new siding on the “Jaws” bathroom building in Universal Studios Florida.
‘Jaws’ Bathroom Refurbishment

The “Jaws”-themed bathroom building in Universal Studios Florida first closed for renovation in February of this year. The sides of the building, which were originally more of a brown color, were stripped several weeks ago. The new siding is now visible on the side of the building facing the lagoon. The updated siding is darker than the building’s new gray shingles.

The siding is currently being placed around the gray vents we previously noted on this wall. The vents have white frames separating them from the siding. The siding is a similar dark color as the building’s window frames located on the opposite wall.
Though situated between The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley and World Expo, the building is called the “Jaws” bathrooms because it’s left over from the old Amity Island area that Diagon Alley replaced over ten years ago. When the area was Amity Island, the bathroom building was originally white. It was later painted brown to better blend with the surrounding Grimmauld Place and London facades. It seems this building will be getting a new black and gray color scheme with this most recent update.

On the other side of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Universal is paying homage to “Jaws” with a “Little Amity” pop-up in the park’s San Francisco area, including food booths and roaming skippers. Many of the additional decorations and special merchandise items are themed to “Jaws” due to the film’s 50th anniversary.
