Hong Kong International Airport has a new installation celebrating the 20th anniversary of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort — including a 10-foot-tall Mickey Mouse statue.

Located in the airport’s Hall B, the display has Mickey in the center of a wide platform. He has a hand stretched out, welcoming guests to “The Most Magical Party of All.” The celebration’s name is in glowing letters at the front of the platform, above an increasing counter of guests who have RSVP’d. Around Mickey are three circular screens displaying pictures of the park and welcome messages in different languages, balloons, the 20th anniversary logo, and the Hong Kong International Airport logo.

Guests can stand on a small platform next to the display and wave at a Mickey-shaped podium, triggering the RSVP counter to go up by one number.

Hong Kong International Airport is less than 10 miles from Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. There are multiple transportation options available to reach the Disney park:

  • Mass Transit Railway (MTR): The city’s train system includes a Disneyland Resort Line, which travels from the airport to the park in about 30 minutes with one transfer. It also has 20th anniversary theming. Guests staying at a resort hotel can access a complimentary shuttle next to Disneyland Resort Station.
  • Bus: From the airport, guests can take the A or E bus routes to Lantau Link Interchange. From there, transfer to Route R8, which runs regularly during the day to the resort directly.
  • Taxi: Follow the terminal signs to the taxi stand. Taxis offer a 15-minute ride from the airport to the park.

Hong Kong Disneyland is decorated for the 20th anniversary. The celebration includes a new castle show called “Disney Friends Live: Party at the Castle!” and the new daytime parade “Friendtastic!“, which is the largest-ever in scale for Hong Kong Disneyland, including 11 floats and over 30 Disney characters. “Friendtastic!” will include the first parade float themed specifically to Duffy and his friends. “Momentous: Party in the Night Sky,” a 20th anniversary version of the park’s nighttime spectacular, will include the new additions of Main Street projections, drones, and more. The park is decorated with light-up balloons, golden sculptures, and banners. The party officially kicks off on June 28, 2025.
