The brand new Super Nintendo World room of the expanded Universal Studios Store in Universal CityWalk Orlando has sprung a leak.
Ceiling Leak in Universal Studios Store
The leaky ceiling comes as rainy weather passes through Central Florida. The affected area is the corner of the store closest to Universal Cinemark. This space was formerly Quiet Flight Surf Shop.
Team Members tried to mitigate the damage from the leaky ceiling with trash bins. There are about ten in the area catching water, which is not just leaking from one spot.
They set up stanchions to keep guests away from the area with the leaking ceiling. There’s also a wet floor sign to warn guests and employees.
One trash can is tucked under a merchandise display, which still has Luigi plush, tumblers, and apparel on its shelves.
There’s clear water damage across the ceiling, around one of the decorative green warp pipes displaying an image of Super Nintendo World. The damage is particularly bad on the edge of a low section of the ceiling.
It looks like some of the ceiling paneling was cut away. The entire ceiling in this area may have to be replaced.
The Super Nintendo World room opened last month, along with an expansion to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter section of the store. In addition to Quiet Flight Surf Shop, the expansion took over the former Cinnabon store. There is now a Cinnabon kiosk near the bridge to Universal Islands of Adventure.
The expansion opened around the same time as Epic Universe, home to Super Nintendo World and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic.
