The first signs of a new building or construction structure are now visible above the construction walls in Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure. The land is about to double in size with a new expansion including two attractions.

This blocked-off walkway usually connects Avengers Campus and Cars Land. It closed in April and a wall behind it (including A Bug’s Land Easter egg) was torn down earlier this month. Now, a basic steel structure has taken the wall’s place.

The structure is just barely taller than the construction walls and is made up of multiple vertical supports and roofs. Though not confirmed, this area is rumored to get a new bathroom facility, and this structure may be the start of that building. The new attractions — Avengers: Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab — are expected to take over more backstage space.

A construction vehicle is parked behind the new structure, which helps fix the sightlines polluted by the wall’s demolition. Imagineering originally designed the area so elements of Cars Land would not be visible from within Avengers Campus.

The structure may be part of the construction equipment or temporary facilities as the site is prepared for significant changes.
