Disney has confirmed with several media outlets that the Radiator Springs Racers attraction in Cars Land will be temporarily closing later this summer. According to this announcement, the Radiator Springs Racers Refurbishment will begin on August 18 and last approximately one month. However, Disney did not add a specific reopening date yet, so it is possible the length will fluctuate depending on the level of work involved.
This closure is not yet listed on the Disneyland Resort website or the attraction calendar at the time of writing, though we expect it will be added soon. The refurbishment is said to involve track resurfacing, some updates to the audio and video systems, improvements to the lighting, and some various network updates for the ride tech.

The last time Radiator Springs Racers closed for an extended refurbishment was in 2023. That refurbishment also lasted a few weeks because it involved repainting the rockwork and replacing the exterior track.
In other recent Cars Land news, the walkway leading from Radiator Springs to Avengers Campus has been blocked by construction walls. The area between the two lands is being prepped for the planned Avengers Campus expansion project. The walls blocking this path are expected to remain until next summer.
Meanwhile, over at Walt Disney World, Imagineers have finally explained more details of the new Cars Land coming to Magic Kingdom, which is said to be based on the Rocky Mountains and include an original character playing homage to a classic Disney cartoon.
