It looks like the exterior overhang of the gift shop for The Seas With Nemo & Friends is getting a refurbishment. There is now scrim and temporary paneling on the facade.

The Seas Refurbishment

People stand outside a beige, round building with trees and bushes under a partly cloudy sky.

The scrim covers a curved element jutting out of the overhang above the doors to SeaBase Gift Shop. This entrance was previously unmarked, although it’s the only way to access the SeaBase Aquarium without riding The Seas With Nemo & Friends. It’s possible the scrim is covering supports for a new sign.

On the left side of the scrim are three beige boards, which almost blend in with the beige color of the facade. They are also related to construction and are just temporary additions to cover signs of work being done.

A brown tarp covers a section of a curved building under a partly cloudy sky.

If Disney isn’t installing signage or decorations here, this could just be regular maintenance on the facade. The old paneling may need replacing.

For comparison, below is a photo of the same area from 2023.

As you can see, the overhang was flat without any element shaped like the piece covered by scrim.

Near the main entrance of The Seas With Nemo & Friends, the water feature is turned off, indicating this area may also be refurbished soon.

An interior refurbishment of part of the SeaBase Aquarium just wrapped up. In 2024, SeaBase Gift Shop received new “Finding Nemo” decorations. In 2023, the 3D mural by the entrance was repainted and refurbished, plus received updated lighting. This followed a refurbishment of the water feature.
