With the closure of MuppetVision 3D, online resellers are already posting listings for 3D glasses taken from the attraction.
MuppetVision 3D Glasses Sold Online

While unfortunate, it has become a somewhat common occurrence for resellers looking to capitalize on the closure of a Disney attraction to begin selling items taken from the parks. Now that MuppetVision 3D is permanently closed, resellers have begun listing the purple 3D glasses for sale online. This particular listing has the glasses available starting at $40, with three of the same glasses already sold and four still listed.

Other listings are advertising the glasses as specifically being from the last show, with a price of $99.95 or best offer. While the listing states three available with one sold, we could not find a price for the sold pair. Both of the above listings have several “watchers,” meaning individuals are watching the items for price changes and/or to come back later for purchase.

While listings range from $20 starting bids to around $100 for just one pair, the actual sold prices range from $15.96 to $41 for items purchased on or after June 7.

There are also listings for MuppetVision 3D glasses with other items such as pressed pennies. In addition to the extended queues in front of MuppetVision 3D and PizzeRizzo for their final day of operation at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, an extended line was set up in front of the attraction’s pressed penny machine to accommodate the high demand for the collectable souvenirs.

A similar listing with pennies and the glasses sold for $55 on the evening of June 7.

Other listings still include glasses from “It’s Tough to Be a Bug!” alongside those from MuppetVision 3D. The bug eye glasses only reappeared at the attraction on March 16 for the show’s final day of operation, though they occasionally appeared for sale before then. These black, antennae-adorned glasses were used for the show until early February, when they were replaced by the same purple 3D glasses used for MuppetVision 3D. Listings for “lots” of these glasses originally started popping up in March with the closure of “It’s Tough to be a Bug!”
Disney is not the only company subject to these resellers, as several Universal Epic Universe grand opening day items were also posted to reseller websites. Some of the resold merchandise included special items that were only available (and sold out) during the Epic Universe media preview. One of those items was the Epic Universe grand opening medallion, which was listed for prices ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 each.
