Water Wheel Fully Operational Again at Swiss Family Treehouse in Magic Kingdom

The water wheel at the Swiss Family Treehouse in Magic Kingdom has returned to full operation.

The Swiss Family Treehouse closed for refurbishment in November. It later partially reopened, but the refurbishment didn’t wrap up until May. When all the scaffolding came down last month, the water wheel was spinning. However, the bamboo buckets on ropes were not moving.

Now both elements are moving, transporting water up and down the treehouse. Though an iconic element of the Swiss Family Treehouse, the water wheel had not been operational since late 2022.

Swiss Family Treehouse is an opening day Magic Kingdom attraction located in Adventureland. Versions also exist at Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland. In Disneyland, the attraction became the Adventureland Treehouse in 2023. Before that, it was Tarzan’s Treehouse, which still exists at Hong Kong Disneyland.
