With the recent addition of The Beak and Barrel at Magic Kingdom, several of the areas to the side of the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction have been taken over to expand the bar space, including the outdoor courtyard.
Pirates of the Caribbean Courtyard

Prior to the construction for The Beak and Barrel at Magic Kingdom, the queue for Pirates of the Caribbean had a small exterior courtyard located on the right side of the entrance.
This courtyard was not accessible to guests, but it was visible on the right side, especially when the queue extended into the covered exterior space.
The courtyard had some themed walls and a small planter to one side, as well as some matching lanterns hanging from the walls.
The Beak and Barrel Updates

However, the layout of much of Pirates of the Caribbean has been altered since construction began for The Beak and Barrel. The right side of the queue has been blocked by construction walls for the majority of the project, but they were recently removed as the opening date of the new tavern draws nearer.

Since this change, the right side of the exterior queue is now one solid wall, and the courtyard has been completely blocked.

The walls are a light tan color, and several of them have new, porthole-style windows. Props hanging from the nearby ceiling include bananas, glass orbs, and some netting.

The new tan walls extend all the way down to the corner of the building where guests enter the indoor portion of the queue, apart from a backstage hallway near the end.

Further down the path, there are also some doors added in a similar style to the one that previously existed in the courtyard.

The concrete and brickwork in this area appears unchanged. There is a visible line on the left side where the maroon-tinted concrete is less dirty and worn than the current walkway, but we expect it will become the same color now that the walls are gone.

There are currently stanchions in place to keep guests standing in the Pirates of the Caribbean queue from getting right next to the new walls.

Additional updated walls were added on the opposite side of The Beak and Barrel earlier this year. Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, also known as the Pirates of the Caribbean gift shop, received new walls near the attraction‘s exit, cutting down on the store’s size to give the tavern a larger footprint. Some of the props in the store were also updated.
The Beak and Barrel is set to open in Magic Kingdom on August 29, 2025. Reservations just opened for all guests on August 20. Nearly all dates for the first two months of operation were completely booked within an hour, and the tavern is now almost completely booked for all party sizes through the end of the available dining calendar.
