BREAKING: Reservations for The Beak and Barrel Will Not Launch Today Due to Technical Difficulties

A new update on the My Disney Experience app and Walt Disney World website has confirmed that reservations will no longer open for booking today for the highly anticipated new pirates tavern at Magic Kingdom, The Beak and Barrel.

This morning, the Walt Disney World dining reservations system went down just as reservations for The Beak and Barrel were scheduled to open. Guests encountered error pages both on the Walt Disney World website and the My Disney Experience mobile app. Reservations for the new bar were scheduled to open this morning, ahead of the bar’s opening date on Friday, August 29, 2025.

By 9:41 a.m., the reservation system was restored for all other restaurants, but The Beak and Barrel was still unavailable for booking.

The latest notice, which is visible on the page for The Beak and Barrel as of 1 p.m., reads as follows:

Due to technical difficulties, reservations for Beak & Barrel will not launch today. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please check back for updates.

At this point, it is unclear when guests will be able to book a reservation for the new bar, which is still set to open on time. The tavern will be open during the after-hours Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, with reservations scheduled to open for the Christmas party in a few weeks.

Like Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, guests dining in The Beak and Barrel will have a 45-minute window to enjoy the venue. The menu will offer food and beverages for guests ages 21 and up. New merchandise inspired by the bar will also be available.

Once open, the bar will feature a new character named Rummy, inspired by the original Barker Bird from the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. Rummy is the first mate of Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn, the proprietor of The Beak and Barrel. Rummy will regale guests with tales from the high seas and lead everyone in rousing toasts in The Mess, the bar’s central space. A second area will be the Captain’s Quarters, which will feature miniature bottled ships that come to life in battle.
