The latest round of prop and detail additions for the many Scare Zones in Universal Studios Florida for Halloween Horror Nights 34 has included a fog machine, some bodies, and much more.

Universal Studios Florida Entrance

Metal truss frame stands on a sunny street lined with palm trees; people walk nearby under a blue sky with clouds.

Two short scaffold towers have joined the larger set of trusses near the Universal Studios Florida entrance. This area serves as the entrance to The Origins of Horror scare zone and Halloween Horror Nights in general.

The two new towers are directly in front of the archway, facing the main entrance. The towers and trusses will eventually be decorated.

The Origins of Horror (Minion Land)

A stone-themed booth with stained glass panels, decorative gates, and fog machines outdoors on a sunny day.

In the scare zone, which takes over the streets of Minion Land, a fourth decrepit structure has been added. Like the others, it has a stained glass roof and broken gates. A podium is in the center.

Outdoor stone altar with stained glass roof, broken gates, and roots—perfect for Scare Zones at Halloween Horror Nights 34.

A tree appears to grow through the back of the structure, past two windows with wrought iron grates. A third window, behind the tree, appears to have been broken open and is lacking a grate.

A stone altar and metal gate with a “Do Not Climb” sign, shrouded in fog near stained glass—perfect for Scare Zones.

A “Do Not Climb” sign is on one of the gates.

Here is the description of The Origins of Horror:

Enter a decaying conservatory of twisted vines where artists carve tributes to Halloween Horror Nights 34. You’ll encounter monstrous crows, gargoyles and more.

This connects to the event’s overall theme of Halloween Horror Nights 34 being housed in a conservatory, even though each scare zone has unique theming.

Masquerade: Dance with Death (Hollywood)

A sunny street scene at a theme park with palm trees, people walking, and scare zones lining decorative building facades.

One sign that you’re still in the conservatory may be these gates at the entrance of the Masquerade: Dance with Death scare zone. They feature similar stone and gate elements as the Origins of Horror structures.

A weathered archway with twisted metal gates hints at Scare Zones, framed by palms and shops on a sunny street.

Vines and other foliage have been added in front of and growing over the gates.

A black wheeled equipment box sits near a tree and Hollywood stars, ready for Halloween Horror Nights scare zones.

We spotted a fog machine behind one of the scare zone’s stages.

The light posts on all the stages are now topped with candles. This stage is at the corner of the street, near The Brown Derby Hat Shop. It has additional candles on its back columns.

A large, covered object sits on a checkered floor near a Halloween Horror Nights Scare Zones sign outdoors in sunlight.

A new large set piece has been added, with a tarp covering it. The set piece appears to be an ornately carved table — possibly with a prop body on top of it.

A damaged wooden chair with a missing seat sits amid draped fabric, evoking Scare Zones on a black-and-white tiled floor.

Next to the table is a very dirty chair.

A decorated stage with gold props, covered furniture, and fog machines on a city street—Halloween Horror Nights vibe.

The next stage, in front of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel facade, also has candles and additional set pieces. Some vines grow over the top of the structure.

Two dusty chairs and a table draped with dirty sheets, like props from Halloween Horror Nights, on a tiled floor.

In the center of the stage is one dirty, tattered armchair, a second chair covered by a tarp, and some kind of end table also covered by a tarp. The covered chair also appears to be hiding a body.

A gothic display with candles, gargoyle statues, and fog machines evokes Halloween Horror Nights on a tiled platform.

The stage in front of Studio Styles received drinks and candles earlier this week. There are now two gargoyle statues perched on the edge of the stage and vines over the back.

A pyramid of empty champagne glasses stands outdoors on a round table amid Halloween Horror Nights 34 scare zones.

The drinks on the table have been filled with water, seemingly for a fountain test.

The gargoyles match the stained glass feature on the back of this stage, suggesting the other stages may get different statues.

Stage set with classical fountain, vases, and a “Regal” sign—perfect for Halloween Horror Nights scare zones.

The lighter-colored stage has new set pieces behind its railing. There are a couple of overgrown plants in pots.

Two ornate chairs flank a tall, shrouded object on a patterned floor, evoking Scare Zones at Halloween Horror Nights.

In front of the plants are two rusty iron chairs. Between them is a table covered in a dirty tarp.

Here is the description of Masquerade: Dance with Death.

You’re invited to a masquerade ball where bloodthirsty vampires lurk behind ornate disguises. When their masks fall, you’ll become their prey.

Mutations: Toxic Twenties (New York)

People walk past a building facade prop as fog machines fill the city street, adding to Halloween Horror Nights scare zones.

Another stage has been added to the park’s New York area, where guests will enter the Mutations: Toxic Twenties scare zone. The first set pieces for this scare zone went up just a few days ago.

A brick film set facade with a rusty door and crate, perfect for Halloween Horror Nights scare zones—“Do Not Climb” sign below.

The new stage has a faux brick back wall. A steel beam crosses over the top of the structure, and it has pipes running along the sides, indicating this is supposed to be an industrial area.

A wooden booth and crate stand against a brick wall, like props in Halloween Horror Nights scare zones.

A thin wooden structure features a black tarp, behind which a scareactor will be able to hide. In front of that is a crate.

A door in a brick building shrouded by fog machines from Halloween Horror Nights.

A door marked “Stage Door” with a metal eye opening is on the left side of the stage. It’s rusty and peeling, like maybe this theater has seen better days.

A brick wall with mismatched mortar forms a rough patch—perfect for Scare Zones at Halloween Horror Nights.

The brick walls are also made to look old and falling apart, with bricks apparently missing in some spots.

A metal grate set in concrete near a brick wall and closed metal door, partly shaded like Scare Zones at Halloween Horror Nights.

There’s a grate in the center of the stage floor.

A black construction wall stands on a city street, hinting at future Scare Zones for Halloween Horror Nights 34.

On the back of the stage are steps for scareactors. They are marked “Do Not Climb” for guests.

The scare zone’s trucks and cars have new additions. A twisted metal utility pole is now up behind this truck.

A wooden crate sits on a truck bed in a scare zone, hinting at Halloween Horror Nights with people and trees nearby.

In the truck bed is a suspicious crate. We could also see command hooks inside the truck, presumably to hold more props.

A blue vintage car with severe front-end damage sits outdoors, as if ready for a Halloween Horror Nights scare zone.

It looks like the car and truck crashed into each other, indicating this is the origin of the toxic leak that causes mutations in the area.

Here is the Mutations: Toxic Twenties description.

In a 1920s neighborhood, a BuzzCon truck with radioactive cargo crashes into a mobster getaway car sending the city into toxic pandemonium.

The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane (Central Park)

A brick pillar with a "9 Crooked Lane" sign, festive fall decor, and fog machines evoking Halloween Horror Nights 34.

Time to enter Crooked Lane and meet the Cat Lady…

…or not. A “Do Not Enter” sign has been added to one of the scare zone’s entrance gates. We’ll just ignore that for now.

A black cat-shaped bucket with yellow eyes hangs in spooky Scare Zones, surrounded by chilling Halloween decorations.

This scare zone is decked out with classic Halloween decorations and costume pieces, but all have seen better days.

A new addition includes a giant ball of yarn in this tree of Jack-o’-Lanterns. Giant balls of yarn were also added to the structure near the Cat Lady’s house earlier this week. As for the Jack-o’-Lanterns — no sign of Lil’ Boo yet.

A small wooden house with flags sits near palm trees, as fog machines create spooky vibes for Halloween Horror Nights.

At the end of the lane is the Cat Lady’s house. Crews have added more elements to the house since our last update.

On the roof is a half-circle window. It has a white frame of wavy lines over colorful stained glass.

To the side of the house is an overhang structure, creating a small covered porch. It’s in front of an opening for a scareactor.

A mound of dirt with a red shovel sits near stairs—like a scene from Halloween Horror Nights 34 on a sunny day.

Stretching out from the porch is a new grassy plain on an elevated stone platform.

A shovel is stuck in sand on a mini-golf course, while fog machines create an eerie vibe near colorful buildings.

In the middle of the grass is a square opening covered by a black tarp piece. Next to that is a pile of fake dirt with a shovel sticking out of it. We’re sure nothing nefarious is happening here.

Here is the description of The Cat Lady of Crooked Lane:

Travel down a spooky winding path to a mysterious home, where trick-or-treaters are transformed into feral felines. Be careful or you’ll be next.

Simpsons Sprung Tent

Large white tent structures behind a fence, often used for Scare Zones at Halloween Horror Nights, trees in the foreground.

Behind The Simpsons Ride are two sprung tents for haunted houses. Each has a facade at their future entrance.

A small wooden cabin with a shingled roof peeks out behind greenery, vehicles, and Scare Zones fog machines.

One facade is a farmhouse-like structure with a porch. Black tarps hang across the front of the house on the porch.

The other facade faces away, but it also has a house-like shape with a gable roof and faux shingles down the side. There’s a large circular opening, maybe to be a window.

Nightmare Fuel: Circus of Decay

Outdoor stage with lighting, equipment, and fog machines under a metal roof, surrounded by greenery and lamp posts.

Over at the Fear Factor stage, we saw a lighting test for Nightmare Fuel: Circus of Decay, this year’s HHN stage show. Some performers (not in costume) were hanging out at the top of the bleachers, stretching.

Outdoor stage setup with colorful lights, fog machines, and metal beams, partially obscured by trees and a white railing.

The lighting was an appropriately creepy mix of red and purple. Circus of Decay reuses the tattered bunting from last year’s Nocturnal Circus. Also, check out this section of the bleachers to see some grim reaper figures.

People enjoy an indoor ride, colorful lights overhead, as fog machines add a misty effect behind the white fence.

The figures wear cloaks and have skull faces with glowing eyes.

You can also see a short video of the test on our Instagram account:

Here is the description of Circus of Decay:

This once-vibrant circus has festered into an unending nightmare. It’s a sinister spectacle of pyro, aerialists and illusions.

More Halloween Horror Nights Prep

People walk on a sunny sidewalk near a green kiosk, trees, and clouds—far from Halloween Horror Nights' scare zones.

There is a new scaffolding tower up near Central Park, where guests will enter the viewing area for the new HHN lagoon show, Haunt-O-Phonic: A Ghoulish Journey. Here is the show’s description:

A ghost story is rising from its watery grave to haunt the Universal Studios lagoon, featuring towering water screens and eerie music.

People walk past palm trees under cloudy skies, heading toward Scare Zones at a theme park during Halloween Horror Nights.

Another tower is outside Mel’s Drive-In, which will become Mel’s Die-In and host a new “street experience,” Mel’s Die-In Zombies. Zombie carhops will surround the restaurant. Check out Mel’s Die-In Zombies merchandise.

A second new street experience will be Club Horror.

A sign reads "Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights 2025" with fog machines and a stained glass design background.

Lastly, a new Halloween Horror Nights 2025 backdrop is up outside Universal Orlando’s Horror Make-Up Show in the Hollywood area. The backdrop features a bloody, broken conservatory window with vines creeping over it and the HHN logo in the center.
