A Disneyland guest managed to place a doll holding a “Remember Hiroshima” sign on “it’s a small world.”

A TikTok posted a few days ago by user Greg Lamp shows a guest walking through Fantasyland with the doll. It’s the same size and style as a real “it’s a small world” doll, but with dirty and tattered clothes, plus a frown on its face. Greg posted the video with the caption, “Just a nice relaxing Sunday at #disneyland,” indicating the incident took place on Sunday, August 3.

A photo posted by TikTok user @jadorebonnieee shows the doll after it was actually placed on the ride. Jadorebonnieee did not take the photo but received it from someone else. WDWNT has not been able to identify the original source.

In the photo, the doll is seen holding up a sign reading “Remember Hiroshima” on a platform in the Asia room of “it’s a small world.”

A Japanese child figure labeled "Hiroshima" stands in Disneyland's "It's a Small World" attraction, with shocked text overlay.

This image was posted by Jadorebonnieee a few days after the first with the text “OMG this happened in Disneyland today,” but Disney most likely removed the doll within hours — if not minutes — of the guest placing it in the attraction on Sunday.

The guest who placed the doll then began posting her own videos on TikTok under the username mamahuahua. In her first video (below), she unpacks the doll, then takes it to Disneyland, blurring her own face. She then shows the doll stationed inside the attraction. At the end of the video, she is being followed by security and has text over the video stating, “May have gotten banned”. The video is captioned, “It happened 80 years ago. It’s still happening today.”

She continued to share videos of the doll, including another video in Disneyland from before she placed the doll. In this video, her face is not blurred. She explains that a Cast Member asked about the doll, but she dodged the question by saying, “Miko has a story.” Miko is the name of the doll.

In the last video currently on her account, the guest picks up the doll from a FedEx location and states, “Eighteen years of smuggling little dogs into places they’re not supposed to be in is about to pay off.”

August 6 is the anniversary of the United States’ atomic bombing of Hiroshima in 1945. It was followed by the Nagasaki bombing on August 9. The attacks killed between 150,000 and 246,000 people.

When WDWNT asked mamahuahua why she placed the doll on “it’s a small world,” she claimed to be working with Up in Arms, an advocacy campaign by Ben & Jerry’s co-founder Ben Cohen, which is “a movement to reclaim the American Dream and bring common sense to the Department of Defense,” per Cohen’s account on X (formerly Twitter).

Yes we put a Japanese doll that said “Remember Hiroshima” onto the It’s A Small World ride at Disneyland. Why?

It is the 80th anniversary of the bombing; an important reminder of what war does to kids.

Hiroshima was a city full of children—tiny, happy bodies full of promise one moment, and murdered the next. Playgrounds turned to graveyards. Sound familiar? Happening now in Palestine, Myanmar, Ukraine, Sudan, and countless other countries around the world.

The bomb we dropped on Hiroshima killed 100,000 people.

The CURRENT, already-built U.S. nuclear arsenal can kill everybody in the world several times over.

And yet our government is planning on spending ~$2 trillion~ on a whole new arsenal. Ummm $2 trillion!? And we don’t have money for healthcare and homelessness and education!?!?!

We can build a world that actually looks more like the utopia in It’s a Small World — a world made for children, not for war.

“it’s a small world”

A boy in a sombrero plays guitar beside Coco figures on a festive stage, inspired by Disneyland 70th celebrations.

“it’s a small world” was refurbished earlier this year and received new (Disney-sanctioned) dolls based on Miguel and Dante from Coco. For Disneyland’s 70th anniversary in July, a new final verse was added to the attraction. It was also added to the Magic Kingdom version of the ride.

Watch our ride POV, including the new verse below.

  1. “Eighteen years of smuggling little dogs into places they’re not supposed to be”. This sounds like a fine upstanding citizen who follows the rules!
Sorry, but my impression is this person does these things more for her own self benefit by trying to attract attention to herself and less to draw attention to a cause!
