Halloween Horror Nights 34 additions in the past few days include toxic waste spills, food booth theming, Tribute Store updates, and the main entrance sign.

Dead Coconut Club – Koven

Large sign at Universal CityWalk promoting the “Koven Dead Coconut Club” for Halloween events, opening nightly at 5pm.

After we learned the theme of this year’s Dead Coconut Club would be a witches coven, Universal has installed signage for it in Universal CityWalk. According to the signs, the club will open nightly during Halloween Horror Nights at 5 p.m. It will feature entertainment and exclusive drink offerings. It will be free admission for all ages.

A large sign reads "KOVEN Dead Coconut Club" at Universal CityWalk, with people walking nearby.

The logo for this year’s overlay is a purple and green emblem with “KOVEN” spelled out in Greek-style letters.

Over at Red Coconut Club, we haven’t seen any updates to the overlay. There are still lots of sticks sitting behind barriers.

But there is another Koven sign outside.

Entrance & The Origins of Horror Scare Zone

Time to enter Universal Studios Florida. There’s now a truss at the park’s front gate with three speakers hanging from it.

The secondary entry gates inside the park now feature a “Halloween Horror Nights” sign. These act as the entrance to The Conservatory, the event-wide setting. Though the scare zones and houses of Halloween Horror Nights 34 vary, the entire event is housed inside The Conservatory.

The Origins of Horror scare zone in Minion Land is based directly on the conservatory theme. Other scare zones will have hints toward the setting, like vines.

A large green gargoyle statue crouches on a pedestal next to a stone wall on a sunny street with people walking by.

Two gargoyles now guard the gates, and there are actual gates attached to the fake stone columns. The scaffolding towers behind the columns are covered in scrim printed with foliage designs.

People stand near a large stone gate with a gothic arch, next to a gargoyle statue, under a clear blue sky.

Black scrim is on the lower halves of the tall entry gates.

Each of the conservatory structures in the scare zone now have something on their plinths. However, the large objects are covered in tarps.

Cafe La Bamba

Cafe La Bamba’s outdoor counter is usually a themed food booth. Trusses were installed in its courtyard weeks ago but now the actual counter has theming.

There are green gate decorations on the fronts of the counters.

Animal Actors Food Booth

Equipment has been installed in the food booths by Animal Actors on Location. Earlier this week, this area received themed walls covered in vines.

Food Truck

A pink food truck with colorful designs is partially hidden behind large potted plants at HHN 34 on a sunny day.

Near Animal Actors on Location, stationed in front of the Back to the Future train, is a new food truck. It looks like Universal tried and failed to hide it with plants. The colorful wrap with crayon-style drawings brings to mind Chucky but it’s not based on that villainous doll.

A pink and yellow food truck is parked by plants at HHN 34, with two people standing nearby behind a metal barricade.

The truck may be inspired by the original Dolls: Let’s Play Dead haunted house. “Food Truck” is printed at one end as though it was partially written in crayon. “Truck” appears to be part of a torn sticker. A logo for the fictional “Plastico” company is at the other end of the truck.

Club Horror

A trailer labeled "Club Horror" is parked by a building, hinting at Halloween Horror Nights 34 festivities.

We now know where Club Horror will be. A Club Horror-branded drinks cart is parked outside the exit of Fast & Furious: Supercharged, in the park’s San Francisco area. Usually home to a scare zone, San Francisco will instead host the new Club Horror street experience featuring undead DJs.

A trailer with "Club Horror" is parked near a trolley and crowd for Halloween Horror Nights.

The Club Horror logo is on both sides of the cart with silhouettes of people dancing. The graphics feature paint-like splatters and red skull images on the silhouettes. There are mounted taps.

Haunted House Tents

Wooden ramp leads to fenced area with large white tents, hinting at Halloween Horror Nights 34 preparations in the background.

We saw crew members working on a ramp behind Springfield, the park’s Simpsons land, when we visited on Wednesday morning. It’s now complete and will lead guests to one of the haunted houses backstage.

The nearest facade has a pair of gabled roofs, a patio, and a well with something hanging over it.

Another facade faces away, and now has a white tarp hanging behind its circular window. In the distance, a Fallout banner is visible on another tent.

Camp Crystal Lake Food Booth

Small wooden building with a "Welcome to Camp Crystal Lake" sign, perfect for a Halloween Horror Nights atmosphere.

This food booth near World Expo now has a Camp Crystal Lake sign. The camp is from Friday the 13th, which inspires this year’s JASON UN1V3RSE house. The booth resembles a camp cabin with vines from The Conservatory growing across it.

One of the side doors is labeled for “Counselors Only.”

Mutations: Toxic Twenties Scare Zone

In the New York area, more props have been added to the Mutations: Toxic Twenties scare zone. There’s now a smashed BzzzCon barrel on the corner of the News Stand. A spill of toxic BzzzCon waste leads to the titular mutations of this scare zone.

Vintage newspapers are displayed on shelves beside a doorway, styled for a Halloween Horror Nights event with eerie blue drapes.

In the stand’s doorway are two small platforms.

The stand’s windows are now covered in newspapers, hiding the interior. They’re the same newspapers on the racks around the stand, with headlines like “BzzzCon Spill!” and “Toxic City!”

This stage now has a body prop covered by a tarp. Patriotic bunting is across the front.

Signs above the shelves of barrels read, “Drink leads to immoral conduct!” and “Do Right & Vote Dry.”

Watch out! A few bright green puddles of toxic waste are in the road.

The BzzzCon barrel on this set was moved slightly and a prop on top of it is covered in a tarp. Thankfully, we photographed the prop yesterday — it’s a retro phonograph. But with it now covered, something may have been added to it.

A white curtain now hangs in the Florist stand, blocking the view of the inside. Some additional flowers have been added, including a pair of hanging planters.

On the counter is a retro register and a BzzzCon barrel. This barrel must be the reason the planter box below it has a hole burnt through it.

In front of Revenge of the Mummy is the crash that triggered the toxic mutations. There’s a truck full of BzzzCon barrels, but of course those have gone awry.

One barrel has rolled off the truck and is on the hood of the car that crashed into it.

A large figure draped in white leans against a dark car—perfect for a Halloween Horror Nights 34 scare zone.

Nearby is a new body-shaped object covered by a tarp. We can’t wait to find out what it is!

A tilting pole with electrical wires is leaning over the crash. We saw some electrical equipment running under the cars recently. Maybe these wires will have some sparking effects.

BzzzCon, a.k.a. Buzzcon debuted as part of HHN 32’s Bugs: Eaten Alive house, in which the Buzzcon Exterminair chemical caused insects to grow to immense sizes and terrorize households in the 1950s. Last year, Buzzcon chemicals were behind the Night of the Undead Clowns in Slaughter Sinema 2.

Clown Cafe

A food trailer labeled “Clown Café” at Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights, with clown art and an “open” sign.

The Clown Cafe food booth now has an “Open” sign above its empty menu board — even though it’s not open yet. More notably, a mural of Art the Clown’s face has been added to the right of the window.

A mural of a creepy clown face in black and white, perfect for a Halloween Horror Nights vibe, on a striped wall with vines.

Art the Clown is from Terrifier, which will be another haunted house this year.

Transformers Bar

Wanta Fanta? A bar is now set up in the extended Transformers: The Ride queue. “Wanta Fanta?” is on the front of the bar’s counters. Several empty frames will eventually hold menus. There are red and blue string lights across the ceiling of the space.

Battery Park Bar

Another bar is being set up in Battery Park. The awning structure now has gray counters around it and an archway featuring thick vines. There are frames for future menus.

Behind the counters are carts and a sink for team member use.

The nearby TV screens now have Halloween Horror Nights logos on their frames. The scaffolding towers have several lights and speakers.

Sahara Traders Tribute Store

Gift shop with Egyptian-themed decor, golden Anubis statues, cat statues, and shelves of shirts and souvenirs.

Sahara Traders, the Revenge of the Mummy gift shop, reopened with the ride on Wednesday after a short refurbishment. We were surprised the store reopened because it will be home to this year’s HHN Tribute Store, along with the neighboring arcade. Though the gift shop has not been completely transformed yet, it has been rearranged somewhat.

Wooden display with plush black cats and mummies, sign says a new exhibit is being added; display area is mostly empty.

Throughout the store are signs featuring the Museum of Antiquities logo reading:

Please,

Pardon our dust and appearance while we add a new exhibit for you to enjoy

Thank You
Museum Management

The fictional Museum of Antiquities was part of last year’s HHN story and will be the main setting of this year’s Tribute Store. Guests will enter the main atrium of the museum and venture into the decrepit exhibit halls where an ancient evil was once unleashed…. and may still be lurking in the shadows — all while shopping for Halloween Horror Nights merchandise.

Kids stand near racks of patterned clothing in a shop decorated with Egyptian-themed props and expedition signs.

A window near the front of the store is now blocked by a green curtain. The unit in front of it still has generic clothing but there are different props — an Egyptian tablet, a “Field Expedition Season 1921” sign, and a figure of the Sphinx.

Two framed museum posters announce current and upcoming exhibits featuring artifacts and legends, displayed against a dark wall.

These posters hold some Easter eggs. One advertises a collection artifacts, lore, and legends in an exhibit now open in the lower level. The exhibit is for the “Mysterious Transylvania,” famously the home of Dracula.

A burnt hole in a poster reveals a red symbol with an eye and triangle beneath ancient Egyptian-style artwork.

The second poster is for an exhibit presented by Carl Denham, the main character of King Kong. This poster has images of Egyptian walls, with one section torn away to reveal a red eye symbol beneath. This is the symbol of the Western Medjai in The Mummy films.

The store is not quite as packed with stuff as it used to be. There are notably fewer life-size sarcophagi and Mummy figures. There is still a wrapped Mummy in a sarcophagus acting as a photo op.

A themed store with dark decor, spiderwebs, merchandise racks, and framed pictures on the back wall under purple lighting.

There are two large shelving units in the center of the store, both with smaller units covered in tarps behind them. For now, these hold regular Mummy merchandise.

There are more “Pardon our dust” signs — on the backs of these shelves and on more sheet-covered units in the area. The arcade’s garage door remains closed. The arcade closed in July.

Some propping was removed from the ramp leading from the Revenge of the Mummy exit. There used to be decorative shelves on the ramp’s walls. The ride still exits here but that may change when Sahara Traders officially becomes the Tribute Store.

Halloween Horror Nights 34 at Universal Studios Florida is on select nights from August 29 through November 2, 2025.
