Ruffalo Returning to MCU

Mark Ruffalo announced to be returning to Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

While rumored for some time, the casting was confirmed as “the script came together and as production gears up for beginning of production this month in England.” No specific details were given. This marks 14 years after Ruffalo first joined the Marvel ranks, with appearances in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Most recently, he appeared in the Disney+ TV series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law along with a cameo in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

It has also been confirmed that Michael Mando will be returning to his role as the Scorpion, first seen in 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day won’t be in theaters for another year, set for release on July 31, 2026. Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker / Spider-Man, alongside Zendaya as MJ and Jacob Batalon as Ned. Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas have been cast in undisclosed roles. Jon Bernthal will appear, reprising his role as Frank Castle / Punisher.
