The Beak and Barrel Construction Walls Removed From Magic Kingdom

Construction walls are gone from around The Beak and Barrel, a new Pirates of the Caribbean bar in Magic Kingdom.

The walls have been temporarily replaced with rolling planters. The Beak and Barrel is set to open on Friday, August 29. It takes over the former Pirates League space, and we could see a scrim-covered sign where the Pirates League sign used to be.

These doors between the bar and Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar have been revealed. There was always a doorway here, as pictured below, but the doors themselves appear to be new or refurbished. The themed gate to the side is brand new as that space was previously a walkway.

The Beak and Barrel reservations were originally supposed to open on August 14 but the Walt Disney World dining reservation system crashed. Reservations will now open on Wednesday, August 20.

This initial round of reservations will be for the day and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. Reservations will open for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in a few weeks.

The Beak and Barrel Details

A cozy lounge where people sit at tables, chatting and enjoying drinks. Warm lighting from chandeliers and wall sconces creates an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of Pirates of the Caribbean. Paintings and plants adorn the walls, adding charm to this magical setting.

Like Oga’s Cantina in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, The Beak and Barrel will limit guests to a 45-minute window. The full menu includes food and cocktails for guests ages 21 and up. New merchandise inspired by the bar will also be available.

A green pirate parrot with a wooden leg and hat stands on a map; a pirate in a painting looks through a spyglass.

The bar introduces new characters, including a bird named Rummy inspired by the attraction’s original Barker Bird. Rummy is first mate to Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn, the proprietor of The Beak and Barrel. Rummy will regale guests with tales from the high seas and lead everyone in rousing toasts. The bar is split into two spaces, The Mess and the Captain’s Quarters. it will feature effects like ships in bottles coming to life.
