Thanks to a new video, we have a new look inside the construction progress for Disney Cotino, the first Storyliving by Disney community.
Disney Cotino
Disney Cotino is the first Storyliving by Disney community, located in Rancho Mirage, California. The community features spaces designed by Walt Disney Imagineers, such as the Parr House, a gathering space inspired by the mid-century modern home of the Parrs in Incredibles 2.
Luxury Rental Property
However, our latest look inside Disney Cotino comes courtesy of a YouTube video posted by Tommy Jordan Palm Springs Housing. Jordan explains that a client bought one of the Disney Cotino houses and is now turning it into a luxury rental property.
Jordan notes that the homeowner is only renting the property seasonally, and Disney Cotino only allows longer rentals for 30 days or more. At the time the community opens, however, this is expected to be the sole rental home.
The rental house is an example of the Sonora home design, which is part of the Grand Collection. It has a total of three bedrooms as well as three and a half bathrooms. Jordan explains that this home is “a blank slate on purpose” and that they will come back to film another video once it is completed.
Cotino Bay
While most of the video is focused on the actual rental home, it also includes some aerial footage of Disney Cotino and Cotino Bay.
The completed Cotino Bay features the “clearest turquoise waters” thanks to Crystal Lagoons technology.
Access to Cotino Bay and its nearby sandy beaches will be available to residents through a voluntary membership at the Artisan Club, opening this fall. Visitors will be able to take trips to the bay through ticketed admission to Cotino Bay Beach in the town center, scheduled to open in 2026.
This building, which appears to be the Artisan Club, is set to include a wellness center, outdoor sport courts, a creative studio, and an outdoor bar called Plot Twist. There will also be a casual table-service restaurant called Architects Fork, which is described on the Cotino website as “inspired by the motif of an architectural drawing room with elevated takes on California cuisine and craft cocktails.”
Meanwhile, the bay itself will have swim zones, access to watercraft, private white sand beaches, and a selection of cabanas available to reserve for a fee.
It is clear from some of the wider images that while the area closest to the club building appears nearly complete, areas on the other sides of the bay are still very much under construction.
There is also a quick shot of what appears to be the Parr House. It has a triangular feature wall with holes facing the bay, which are seen covered in floor to ceiling windows in the previously-released concept art.
A first look at the completed entrance gate was posted in 2024, and more model homes opened for viewing in early 2025. The community is expected to officially open sometime this year.

After seeing what Disney is doing, I’m really surprised of what’s being created. And I also believe that this will succeed, because Disney is trying to do what they did in creating celebration. But except this time, they’re going to do better and make sure that they pull out all the stop’s from not making it not succeed.
Also, after seeing what Disney is doing. I’ve realized this needs to be finally built.
