Disney Parks shared a new video featuring the Key to Disneyland experience that parodies Kingdom Hearts gameplay.

Kingdom Hearts Key to Disneyland Parody

Kingdom Hearts Split-screen image: person in cosplay explores Disneyland with in-game style menus and health bars overlaid.

The video, below, sees a “player” in a Kingdom Hearts-inspired outfit (emulating protagonist Sora’s attire from Kingdom Hearts III) searching for the key station at the front of Disneyland Park, running and jumping around the Mickey flowerbed. They find the station and “unlock” it with their key, activating the station’s effects.

In addition to the “player,” the onscreen graphics also emulate the iconic UI (user interface) from the video games.

I’ve been having these weird thoughts lately. Like, is any of this for real, or not… 💭 It is! Your Key to Disneyland is here 🗝️  #Disneyland70

Key to Disneyland is part of the resort’s 70th anniversary celebration. Guests can purchase a giant key and use it at stations throughout the park. After “unlocking” every station, the key opens to reveal an exclusive trading pin. Read our full guide to Key to Disneyland.

A regular Key to Disneyland key, as seen in the video, is $59.99. But a giant $250 version, closer to the size of a Keyblade from Kingdom Hearts, will be available soon.

Kingdom Hearts IV

Kingdom Hearts is a popular video game series developed by Square Enix that combines elements of Disney properties and Final Fantasy. The original video game was released in 2002, followed by two main sequels, multiple spin-off games, manga, novels, and more.

The last video game, Kingdom Hearts III, was released in 2019. It served as the end of the “Dark Seeker Saga,” but Kingdom Hearts IV is in development as the start of the “Lost Master” storyline. Main characters Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Mickey are all set to return. A release date hasn’t been announced.
