Walt’s Chili in a Mickey-shaped Bread Bowl

Walt’s Chili is a frequent flyer at the Disney Parks, based on Walt Disney’s favorite chili recipe. Bread bowls made with Bourdin sourdough are also common, but this is the first time we’ve had a dish served in a Mickey shaped bread bowl.

This chili could have been better. Most of the liquid seems to have soaked into the bread bowl, and it was served room temperature. It had a nice spice to it, but we would have preferred it hot and with more broth. The flavor profile was also lacking. Maybe Walt liked a thick chili without sour cream or anything, but we wouldn’t really want to share a pot. Your mileage may vary based on your chili preferences, but we won’t be back for this.

Rating

The attempt at a Mickey-shaped bread bowl does earn it a bonus point. It’s cute, even if it’s more like a Mickey balloon than a Mickey icon.
