The former Muppet Courtyard area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is now cleared of rubble from the Stage 1 Company Store demolition as prep work for Monsters Inc. Land continues.

New aerial photos shared on X by Bioreconstruct show that much of the dirt work surrounding the former Muppet Courtyard has been flattened after the brick and concrete walkways were torn up.

The theater building of MuppetVision 3D is still mostly untouched. However, the most recent concept art for Monstropolis shows that this theater building will remain standing and be reimagined to fit the new theme, so there will not be as much demolition taking place on this side of Muppets Courtyard.

It these wide shot photos, it is also clear that any remaining rubble from the demolished Stage 1 Company Store has been cleared to make way for the new Monsters, Inc. land construction to begin.

Stage 1 Company Store never officially reopened following the COVID-19 closures in 2020, and was only used for special events and limited-time shopping opportunities after that. Walt Disney Imagineering filed a permit for its demolition in May 2025.

Moving back into the former Cast Member parking area, aerial photos show the continued preparation work for an extended show or ride building for the upcoming Monsters, Inc. door coaster attraction, as seen in a map from the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District. It will be Disney’s first vertical lift coaster and first suspended coaster.

Utility work is now occurring around the giant, square-shaped area in the center of the parking lot. Trenches are being dug around the outlined area for possible draining or infrastructure.

Concept art shows just how large of a footprint that the upcoming Monsters Inc. door coaster will cover.

While the Muppets have been evicted from this area of the park, they are set to take over Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, currently starring Aerosmith. Just yesterday, Fozzie Bear visited “the future home of The Muppets” at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to tell a few coaster-themed jokes on National Roller Coaster Day.
